CCU DUAL CREDIT AND DUAL ENROLLMENT
Augustine Classical Academy has partnered with Colorado Christian University (CCU) to offer dual credit and dual enrollment courses for all Rhetoric students. CCU is a four-year liberal arts university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), which is one of the six regional accrediting agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
ACA has been blessed with teachers who are both highly qualified and passionate for classical Christian education, and we are always looking for ways to enhance our Rhetoric student’s learning experience that gives them an advantage in the college admissions process and aligns with ACA’s mission to “equip students to know, love, and practice what is true, virtuous, and beautiful; and to challenge them to strive for excellence as they live for the glory of God and for the good of all people.”
Dual credit and dual enrollment are both excellent opportunities for the ACA Rhetoric student, providing your child the freedom to amplify their high school transcript by including courses that are college equivalent, demonstrating proficiency in taking rigorous college-level courses while also providing a path toward achieving an Associate of Arts degree (60 credits) during a student’s tenure as an ACA high school student. Both dual credit and dual enrollment courses offered through CCU provide affordable general education courses for high school students in order to help reduce college costs and prepare for the rigor of college coursework.
ABOUT DUAL CREDIT
Rhetoric students at ACA can earn high school and college credits simultaneously through the CCU dual credit program at CCU. Dual credit courses are rigorous, college-level courses taught in-seat by approved ACA faculty that have a master’s degree of higher in a particular area of study. These courses offer both high school and transferable college credit. Dual credit is earned in the same manner as a typical college course — through papers, tests, and other assignments. The dual credit is awarded based on the grade received at the culmination of the course.
An ACA Rhetoric student is permitted to enroll in the college course equivalent to their high school course and obtain college credit from the accredited university while meeting ACA graduation requirements.
Updated 7/30/24: ACA is in the process of finalizing our college equivalent courses and will post these in the fall for all interested students and their families. Students will have adequate time to enroll following the finalization of these courses.

ABOUT DUAL ENROLLMENT
Colorado Christian University offers affordable dual enrollment online college courses for students who have not yet started their college experience as traditional freshmen. CCU dual enrollment courses are 100 percent online and taught by Colorado Christian University instructors with a Christian worldview. With CCU’s accreditation, their credits transfer to many colleges and universities nationwide (ACA graduate students will need to submit all courses to the college registrar to ensure transferability). Coursework is completed over 15-week blocks during the fall and spring semesters and over 10-week blocks in the summer semester. Instruction will take place in the Brightspace Learning Management System.
