The Logic School

The ACA Logic School exists to train students to think critically, reason soundly, and discern truth through a biblical lens.

In the logic stage (grades 6-8), students become more analytical in their thinking, exploring cause and effect, relationships among disparate topics, and the ways facts relate in a logical framework. For example, in writing, students learn to support a thesis; in reading, they learn to analyze texts for truth and fallacy; in science, they learn to use the scientific method.

Early adolescent children (grades 6-8) begin to develop the ability to draw conclusions from a series of facts. This is called the dialectic or logic phase. ACA teaches formal logic, logical fallacies, and reasoning skills through tools like the Socratic Method. Students are practicing the science of accurate thinking. In this phase, the subject matter is not as important as what conclusions the students may draw from their knowledge.
