Preschool

A year of beginnings….

Preschool is for students ages 3 & 4 (turning 3 by October 1). Preschool students are learning “how to do school” and a great deal of learning takes place outside the realm of academic subjects. This involves working and playing with friends, getting their needs met in a new and unfamiliar environment, doing things independently, asking for help when they need it, following class rules so they can be safe, cleaning up, using the restroom at school, and so much more.

Preschool is a joyful place of curiosity and discovery while establishing a structured environment with the teacher in authority. Students learn to participate in brief, age appropriate group learning. They love the daily routines of assigning leaders of the day, checking the weather, singing calendar songs, and reciting fun poems and Bible verses.

We introduce skills and knowledge through fun, hands-on learning activities, and continue to build on them throughout the early childhood years. Self-directed play time, both indoor and outdoor, is part of our daily routine and supports the development of relationships and social emotional skills.

Preschool offers two or four-day schedule options (afternoons optional).

“A love of Jesus and of learning is a central part of each day at ACP. Friendships between students are formed and fostered, and the kids feel safe, loved, challenged, and encouraged.”
